Dr. Pengsue Yang is a population health pharmacist embedded in one of our community partner clinics in Charlotte. He completed the Population Health and Practice Development fellowship through Avant Institute and Avant Pharmacy and Wellness in collaboration with the same providers. During his time as a fellow, Pengsue developed protocols to improve efficiency and productivity in workflow, raised clinic star ratings through closing care gaps and grew clinical services for the practice. Pengsue has been very passionate about social determinants of health and has worked diligently to identify and match patients with community resources to get the help they need. He is looking forward to showing the value and impact that pharmacist-led services can have when given the opportunity.
Pengsue is originally from southern California. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in Integrative Biology, specializing in Cell Biology and worked in Toxicology for a number of years prior to obtaining his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In his spare time, Pengsue enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and learning new songs on the guitar.
